Orangery And Landscaping in Hertfordshire

Hertford, Hertfordshire

The Clients at this property had already engaged with a UPVC conservatory specialist to construct the shell of and supply and fit the bi-folding doors, windows of an Orangery. With the client living abroad, at some point during the discussions with the conservatory contractor, they felt the need to employ someone as a main point of contact of whom they were confident could ensure that the project was brought in on time and to budget.

Project managing the build and landscaping

Beswick Building and Renovations Ltd were instructed to project manage the build and also to internally install underfloor heating, prepare all substates ready for tiling, lay porcelain wood effect tiling throughout and final decoration. Externally we were instructed to landscape the rear garden in an indian sandstone paving slab with a new garden wall and gate.

Having managed daily the conservatory companies subcontractors we were left with the ‘shell’ of the Orangery and we quickly set about correctly preparing the insulation for the concrete floor, ready to accept the new ‘wet’ underfloor heating system. Once this was installed the plastering was completed and  a fast curing screed  was laid to ensure quicker drying times, thus allowing the tiler to install the new wood effect floor tiles ahead of the original agreed schedule.

Patio installation

Working succinctly, whilst indoor work was moving forward, our landscaping team embarked on digging out and preparing an area of just over 80m2 to accept the new patio slabs. Mid build, it happens, the customer decided the layout of the patio was not what they thought it would be and requested that we change it. Forthcoming and understanding that this was ‘additional’ work , we agreed the new layout and quickly got to grips with instilling the clients new design.

On completion the customer was left with a gorgeous, light and highly finished orangery area,  with a 57inch LCD TV and full surround sound system installed, opening out onto a wonderful, curved and sleek Indian sandstone patio area where summer nights can be made the most off.
